We are pleased to present the second solo exhibition of the Czech painter Adam Kašpar. Currently, the artist is presenting himself specifically through an artistic transformation that metamorphoses the level of mimetic depiction into complex and experimental forms. The cycle Urpflanze forms a reflection and homage to life itself, though of course a life emerging in many diverse and less-expected aspects. Among these, we could mention untamed force and the viral essence of the living, the merciless course of time or the destructiveness of the elements, for example fire. In fact, it is precisely the artistic representation of fire and its transformation of the landscape that plays the predominant role at this exhibition. Such fire-scorched lands were viewed and artistically reshaped by the author, whether from travel in Congo or – far closer to home - during a later artistic symposium in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The exhibition Urpflanze forms, for Adam Kašpar, a highly significant bridging, which is far from an easy step to take. Yet without question, it displays the first stage of the rebirth of his unique style toward one stage further.
