Coincidence

The exhibition Coincidence presents painter Jiří Matěj’s new work concerning the concept of synchronicity first introduced by the psychologist C.G. Jung. Matěj first came onto the Czech art scene in the 1990’s as a graduate of Prague’s Academy of Fine Arts. From the beginning, Matěj has been active in the local artistic context as a solitary figure regarding his approach to the media of painting and specific topics. Matěj’s work has long been related to the phenomenon of light with an exploration of its spiritual and physical qualities through colour.
